How did Monica know how to operate Carol's “designer”?
In Captain Marvel, we see Monica doing "fashion designing" for her aunt Carol. What's strange is that how does a kid with nil exposure to Kree tech know how to operate the "designer device".
It could be said that she was doing random guesswork. But, at a point, Carol says "Let's copy your T-shirt's pattern" to Monica and in the very first try Monica is able to achieve the exact pattern. This just cannot be termed as random.

She seemed to just be doing random things
She pushes buttons, swipes her fingers over the device and then looks at the output rather than knowing what she's doing and then confirming it is correct.
But, at a point, Carol says "Let's copy your T-shirt's pattern" to Monica and in the very first try Monica is able to achieve the exact pattern.
This is incorrect, Carol interrupts Monica and says the previous statement and then Carol uses the device to copy Monica's t-shirt.
It's worth noting as @Adamant has said in a comment though that the device showed colours on it so that would imply all Monica had to do was pick the colours she wanted by tapping on them which would be intuitive and need no knowledge of Kree tech. However, if my memory of the scene is correct Monica swipes a lot of colours at once meaning she wasn't exactly being accurate with it and might not have known how to work it.

My memory confirms. It is definitely Carol who adopts the pattern and Monica is basically just randomly swiping and looking for the outcome. Yes, the device shows colours. But they are more of a confined range of, say, shades of red, and the panel more or less completely (there seemed a small part close to the hand that does not IIRC) changes colours depending on input. I remember well because I wondered how the hell this is supposed to work.

The designer shows a rainbow from which the colors are selected. From experimenting several times with the device and seeing what certain touches do, Monica figures out what she needs to do to select the colors she wants.
