The Weatherman
-Danny, look! Look, who is coming! -Mommy, it's the Santa Claus!
The door's opened, a little bit of draught's came in, because grandpa's forgot to close the window in the kitchen. And then the beardy man in red himself with some snow on his shoulders from a blizzard has walked in.
-Ho, ho, ho! Before I'll shower you with the gifts, let me ask: -Were you good this year, young man? -Yes, I was, dad.
Whole family'd broken into gales of laughter and started to give each other Christmas wishes.
-I'm in floods of tears because of your magnificent performance, Mark. -Ha, ha. Very funny. I've told you, it won't work out, our son is too clever. He's got it from you. -Can't disagree with that one,
haha.
Suddenly, her sunny smile went off. Dark red blood covered her face and the body. The same happened with Danny and the rest of the family. The whole room became dark. -What? What is happening? No, please, no! Don't leave me. Please don't... -YOU. COULD. -What, Maria, what is going on? -SAVE US.
Mark's woken up with a headache. The light is blinding him. The only thing he's hearing is this squealing noise in his head, he's got cuts and bruises on his body. -Where am I? Maria? Danny?
A voice from afar said: -He's here! I knew I saw something!
A small group of people in dirty clothes appeared. -Who are you? - Mark asked. -We can ask you the same question. Come on, let me help you stand. It's not safe in here.
Suddenly, like a greased lightning, a hail's started to drop from above. But this one was different from what Mark used to see. More like a hail of bullets.
-Run if you want to live! - said a man from the group. Mark did it as fast as he could.
-Can you tell me what is going on, because I haven't the foggiest idea!?
Nobody answered. Later, when they found a safe place, the group started to argue with each other. The man said in a breezy manner: -It was your idea to rescue him. We already lost two people during the hurricane, not a sleet, not a light rain. The hurricane. I have enough of watching you blowing hot and cold. Don't push me to the edge because you'll see a storm of protest. -I see a storm, but in a teacup - the woman answered calmly. Stop giving me this frosty look and these biting remarks, Carl. I base everything on calculations, not speculations. I am trying my best to get you out, but I am snowed under the work.
Mark was listening to a stormy relationship of these two and said:
-Sorry to interrupt you, I know you are under the weather, but as I observed, these kinds of anomalies don't exist in our world, so tell me where are we? -We don't really know, our people say this is some kind of copula, the weather is constantly changing. We encountered scorching heats and biting winds, tornadoes and typhoons, floods and droughts... -A copula? So we are imprisoned? If it is like you said, there must be a power source somewhere and satellites that connect with it. I know what I'm saying, I'm a geoengineer. -Okay, Mr geo-science-something, so what is your plan? - Carl asked. -If you'll look closely to the ground, you'll see the connections. The more links, the closer we are to the power source. When we'll find it, we'll have to wait for some electrical storm. -I think it'll be in 1 hour. -Great. let's go!
Mark and the rest of the group started looking. He observed that the birds that are flying around, wouldn't survive this rapidly changing weather, so they aren't real. Those must be the satellites.
-I found something. Come on, help me dig - Carl said. They saw a blinding light from the ground.
-It's the power source. It must be. - Mark said and suddenly he felt a drop of water on his skin.
-It's coming, put as much metal on the power source as you can.
A gale has started as well as driving rain. A powerful lightning dropped from the sky directly into the power source and bounced to the satellites, which caused an explosion. Mark woke up a while later with a cough. He couldn't see much because of a dense fog, he only saw that he actually was in some kind of building. -Maria, Danny, is it you? -Help me, Mark, please!
But she wasn't safe. Behind them, 5 men in black suits appeared with guns pointed to their head.
-Okay, Mr Mark Jones. We wanted to take over your company, you wouldn't let us. You were supposed to test our copula, but instead you destroyed it. Do you have to mess everything up? Now I'll mess up your life. - said the man in black and started to pull the trigger. -No! - Mark screamed. But before the man could shoot, his chest was pierced by an arrow. The same happened with his people. It was the woman with her group. Mark's family seeing that they are freed, ran to Mark to hug him. -I was so worried... I thought you were dead. Now let's escape this place. - he said.
One week later, when they were all at home, recovering from their drama, Mark said: -Being together with you is like I was on cloud nine. -I agree, but it would be even better if we were in a place with mild climate, bright sunshine and calm sea. - Maria responded. -Okay, but no more weather anomalies, haha.
